Meghna Petroleum approves 20pc dividend

CHITTAGONG, June 25: Meghna Petroleum Ltd in its 29th annual general meeting (AGM) held Saturday approved 20 per cent dividend for 2006-2007 fiscal.
The AGM was held at a local community centre with Chairman of the company board of directors Anwarul Karim in the chair. Members of the Board of Directors Siddique Jobayer, Syed Mohammad Mozammel Hoque, Mohammad Ali, Md Nazrul Islam, M A Wadud Khan and Company Secretary Sharif Ashrafuzzaman were present on the occasion.
Meghna Petroleum Ltd earned pre-tax profit worth taka 341.6 million and post-tax profit worth taka 211.7 million for the 2006-2007 fiscal while post-tax profit of the company for the preceding 2005-2006 fiscal was taka 137 million.
A large number of shareholders were present in the AGM.
