Meghna trawler capsize death toll rises to nine

NARSINGDI, May 29 (UNB): The death toll from Thursday's trawler capsize in the Meghna River here rose to nine with recovery of six more bodies Friday morning. Fire fighters and BIWTA workers retrieved the six bodies in the morning. Earlier, on Thursday three people including a minor boy drowned and six others went missing as a trawler sank in the Meghna River with  60/70 passengers on board amid a storm while heading towards Bogargoat  village under Karimpur union from Puran Char in Sadar upazila around 2 pm.    — UNB
