Mehazabien wins Lux-Channel-i Superstar 2009 crown

Mehazabien Chowdhury Zenifar won the crown of Lux-Channel-I Superstar-2009, while Mounita Khan Ishana and Sadika Parvin Swarna became first and second runner up respectively.
The announcement came at the grand finale of Lux-Channel-i Super Star-2009 held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the city Friday, said a press release.
Superstar Mehazabien received a brand new car, an international scholarship on acting and a film contract for the lead role of a Lux-sponsored feature film produced by Impress Telefilm based on a script by noted writer Syed Shamsul Haq.
First runner up Ishana got a cheque for Tk 0.5 million (5.0 lakh) while second runner up Swarna got a cheque for Tk 0.3 million (3.0 lakh).
The grand finale began with the dance performance of top 25 contestants with a song by singer Kaniz Suborna.
Besides, the dance performance and fashion walk by the five finalists, there was performance by immediate-past super stars -- Shanu, Mim and Chaity.
Country's top musicians like Topu, Fuad, Ayub Bachchu, Kanak, Shumon, Bappa Majumder and Shafin Ahmed graced the event with their performance on stage.
Besides, the three regular judges -- Suborna Mustafa, Afsana Mimi and Syed Shamsul Haq -- special guest judges for the finale were actor Asaduzzaman Noor, designer Maheen Khan and media personality Shaikh Shiraj.
The competition began on August 3, 2009.
More than 10,000 contestants registered in seven regional auditions for the four-month long Lux-channel-i Superstar-2009 competition.
Top 25 contestants selected from national audition were groomed and trained by top actors, beauty and fashion gurus, models and directors in the boot camp.
The top five finalists -- Mounita Khan Ishana, Mehazabien Chowdhury Zenifar, Nazia Haq Orsha, Sadika Parvin Swarna and Sifat-E-Tahsin emerged from a series of performances and elimination in different TV episodes on beauty and glamour, fashion and modelling, dance and acting.
Other winners of the grand finale were Sifat-E-Tahsin as 'Sunsilk Miss Beautiful Hair', Mounita Khan Ishana as 'Pond's Miss Beautiful Skin' and Nazia Haq Orsha as 'Close Up Miss Beautiful Smile'.
Each of them received a crest and cheque for Tk 0.1 million each sponsored by the respective brands.
