Meherpur road accident kills woman

MEHERPUR, July 27 (BSS): A woman was killed in a road accident on the Meherpur-Kushtia road in Chocktola area under Gangni upazila of the district on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Nisaran Khatun, 55, daughter of late Matleb Ali, resident of Kastdah village of Gangni upazila.
The accident occurred in the area when a Kushtia-bound Lata Hamba (locally made engine-run vehicle) hit her when she was crossing the road around 9:30am. She died on the spot, officer-in-charge (OC) of Gangni Police Station Tajul Islam said.
Police recovered the body from the spot and seized the vehicle, the OC added.
