Meherpur road crash kills two

Two young men have been killed in a road accident at BSCIC Industrial Estate at Meherpur town on Sunday. The dead are Meheraj Hossain, 18, son of Abdul Barek and M Sujon, 17, son of Rana Hossain, residents of Madnadanga village of Meherpur Sadar upazila. Another young man was injured in the accident, that occurred at Kushtia-Meherpur road around 11:00pm. Police quoting locals said a speedy truck hit the youths on their way back home from the district town riding bicycles, leaving them critically injured. They had worked in different shops in the town, police said. The injured were rescued and whisked off to Meherpur Upazila Health Complex where Meheraj succumbed to his injuries. Later, Sujon was shifted to Rajshahi Medical Collage Hospital (RMCH) in critical condition where he died on Monday, according to a news agency.
