Menon dismayed at \\\'abortive\\\' movement of students

Chief of Workers Party of Bangladesh Rashed Khan Menon expressed on Tuesday his dismay over the students' unsatisfactory movement over the brutal killing of the blogger-cum writer Avijit Roy.
Mr Menon, also the Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister of the Awami League-led alliance government, expressed his reaction while inaugurating the 18th annual caucus of its student front Chhatra Moitri in the capital.
"I thought, students would have taken to streets, following the sensational murder of writer Avijit, but I did not see the expected movement," he said.  
Mr Menon stressed on a united movement against the religious and communal fanatics to materialise the dream of freedom fighters.
He called upon all students organisations to come under a single umbrella to thwart militancy in the country. "Please come to street instead of wallpaper writing politics," the left- leaning leader urged.
Meanwhile, the party's General Secretary Fazle Hasan Badsah termed the western offer to investigate the sensational killing of blogger-cum writer Avijit Roy, 'motivated'.
"We cannot believe in US-led investigation into the Avijit murder, while the country is supporting the BNP-Jamaat-led anarchy in the country," Mr Badsha added.
Washington expressed its deep concern over the gruesome killing and offered Dhaka its help to investigate into the murder by sending a team of FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation), which was also welcomed by the Awami League-alliance government.
The communist leader also an incumbent lawmaker expressed his fear of getting biased investigation report, if the US intelligence team is allowed to probe the incident.
"Even, the FBI could blame the government for the attack," the leader said adding that the country's mass people are enough to find out the culprits.
Chhatra Moitri president Bappa Ditta Bosu and ladesh Chhatra League President HM Bodiuzzman Shohag, among others, addressed the inaugural session.
