Sunday, 26 October 2014

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon has said that fundamentalists and extremist militants were out to destroy democracy and stability in Bangladesh. ‘This group is conspiring to destabilise the whole subcontinent. Recently they exploded bombs in India. Therefore, the progressive forces of South Asian subcontinent have to be united to fight this menace,’ the minister said while addressing a rally in the city before a road march, organised by Workers’ Party of Bangladesh, a component of the ruling 14-party alliance, to sensitise people about the public meeting to be held at Suhrawardy Udyan on November 29 in support of their 20-point demand. The demands include completion of trial of war criminals, restoration of the ‘72 Constitution and implementation of Chittagong Hill Tracts Peace Accord, according to a release.
