Mercantile Bank donates Tk 5.0m to Kidney Foundation

Mercantile Bank Limited has donated Tk 5.0 million to Kidney Foundation to establish a hospital, which will provide modern diagnostic facilities to the kidney affected patients at a nominal cost.
Mercantile Bank Limited Chairman Md Abdul Jalil MP handed over the cheque of the donation to Kidney Foundation President Dr Harun Ur Rashid at a simple ceremony at the Dhanmondi office of the foundation Wednesday, said a press release.
While handing over the cheque, Abdul Jalil MP said Mercantile Bank Limited is always beside any noble initiative taken for the welfare of the people of the country. The bank spends a part of its profit for the welfare of the society as a part of its commitment.
With this view, Mercantile Bank Foundation was established at the inception of the bank. Talented personalities are awarded by the foundation every year for their contribution in different sectors of the country. Bank has also planned to form modern charity hospital in every upazila of the country. He also added that Mercantile Bank will extend its cooperation to Kidney Foundation Hospital in future also.
Mercantile Bank Vice Chairman M Amanullah, directors Golam Faruk Ahmed, MS Ahsan, AKM Shaheed Reza and Mosharref Hossain, Sponsor MA Khan Belal, Managing Director and CEO Dewan Mujibur Rahman and Additional Managing Director AKM Shahidul Haque were present at the programme.
The Vice President of Kidney Foundation Dr MA Ohab, Managing Director Tiny Rashid, directors Dr Ziauddin Ahmed, Khorshed Alam, Habibul Haque and Project Director Abdul Rashid were also present on the occasion.
