Mercantile Bank opens SME/Krishi branch

Mercantile Bank has opened an SME/Krishi branch at Amishapara Bazar in Noakhali.
Chairman of the bank Md Abdul Jalil MP inaugurated the new branch Monday, said a press release.
Chairman of the Audit Committee of the bank Morshed Alam, directors MS Ahsan, Akram Hussain (Humayun) and AKM Shaheed Reza and sponsor MA Khan Belal were present as the guests of honour at the opening ceremony.
Managing Director and CEO Dewan Mujbur Rahman and Deputy Managing Director and CFO Monindra Kumar Nath were present on the occasion.
Mr Jalil, in his speech, said agriculture sector and agriculturists of our country have been playing a vital role in developing the country's economy.
Considering its importance, Mercantile Bank has been opening new branches in rural areas as part of its commitment to reach the mass people with its modern technology-based banking services, he said.
To explore and develop agricultural sector and small and medium enterprises of the country the bank has planned to open more SME/Krishi branches in the country.
Mr Alam expressed the hope that like other branches Mercantile Bank Amishapara SME/Krishi branch will be able to contribute to boosting the country's agricultural sector.
