Mercury rises slightly in city

The mercury increased to some extent on Tuesday in the city despite a drizzle in some places.
The humidity ranged from 76 per cent in the morning to 65 per cent in the evening while sky remained partly cloudy on the day.
The maximum temperature in the city was found at 34.0 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature at 27.5 degrees until 6:00 pm on Tuesday, said Met Office.
The country's highest temperature of 35.7 degrees was recorded in Rajshahi on the day while the lowest temperature was 24 degrees in Netrakona.
The country's highest rainfall of 75 mm was recorded in Hatia until 6:00 pm.
Light to moderate rain was likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over other five divisions including Dhaka in next twenty four hours starting from Tuesday 6:00 pm.
Temperature might remain almost unchanged in next twenty-four hours.
The sun sets at 6:00 pm today (Wednesday) and rises at 5:45 am tomorrow (Thursday).
