Mercury up in city

Temperature increased to some extent in the city as there was almost no rain until 6:00pm on Saturday.
In a weather forecast for today (Sunday), the Met office said light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind might occur at many places over Chattogram and Barishal divisions and only at a few places over six other divisions, with moderately heavy falls at places over the country.
The maximum temperature recorded in Dhaka city on Saturday was 33.3 degree Celsius and the minimum was 26.3 degree while rate of humidity was 71 per cent.
And the country's highest temperature (35.3 degree) was recorded in Kutubdia and the lowest (24.4 degree) in Teknaf.
The Met office recorded no rainfall in Dhaka until 6:00pm on Saturday while the country's highest rainfall of 32 mm was recorded at Tarash in Sirajganj.
Rain might continue for the next two days but will decline within the next five days, according to the Met office.
The sun sets in Dhaka at 05:43 pm today (Sunday) and will rise at 05:52am tomorrow (Monday).
