Message from the Senior Secretary

It is my pleasure to congratulate my fellow colleagues of different ministries and agencies who are trained vigorously in the field of PPP through 6 months long series training program. IPFF Project Cell, Bangladesh Bank deserves commendations for arranging this training program.
Government of Bangladesh dispenses highest priority on infrastructure development especially power and energy, telecommunication and port development under PPP program. Development in infrastructure sector through private sector participation will provide a boost to the growth and development of our economy. In addition to the sectors mentioned, government welcomes infrastructure development through PPP initiative in power, health, education, tourism, industry, information technology, supply of purified drinking water, sanitation, housing sector etc. Public-Private initiative and innovations can play an important role in creation of public utilities providing public goods and services. Government is ready to play a supportive role by providing incentives, inducing ideas and setting the initiatives in motion and encouraging mass motivational activities.
I would like to give special thanks to IPFF project for playing a pivotal role establishing PPP concept in Bangladesh through its long term financing facility to PPP based infrastructure projects as well as capacity building among various stakeholders of PPP through various trainings, workshops and seminars both at home and abroad. I personally believe that the trained officials will contribute a lot in figuring out projects in their concerned ministries which can be implemented under PPP. They would also help participation and assistance of the government, foreign and local private investors and the development partners in the PPP initiative. I believe that PPP in Bangladesh is heading towards the right direction.
