MetLife, Global Citizen launch 'Footwork for Futures' football challenge to support edn

MetLife, in association with Global Citizen, has launched a global football-themed social media challenge titled "Footwork for Futures" to support access to quality education and sports for children and youth, aiming to build more confident and resilient communities.
The campaign, which began on May 12, 2026, will run until July 19, 2026, or until the donation target is reached, according to a press release.
The initiative invites participants from Bangladesh and around the world to post short videos of themselves juggling or attempting to juggle a football on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and X, using the hashtag #FootworkForFutures.

For every eligible video submitted, MetLife will donate USD 5 to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, with a total donation cap of USD 100,000. The fund will support community-based organiyations working on education and sports opportunities for children globally.
The campaign is part of MetLife Foundation's broader commitment of USD 9 million as a founding donor of the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which focuses on grassroots programs combining education and sports development.
MetLife Bangladesh CEO Ala Ahmad said, "Football has the power to unite communities, and when combined with education, it becomes a powerful force for creating opportunity. Through Footwork for Futures, we want to make it easy and fun for people in Bangladesh to
contribute to a meaningful global cause."
The challenge is open to people of all skill levels, encouraging creative participation from both experienced players and beginners.
