MIB for promoting creative local culture

Music Industries Owners’ Association of Bangladesh (MIB) has started its journey promising to fight against all alien cultural aggression for promoting creative local culture.
MIB has been created to preserve the rights of the people associated with the music world, said Nazmul Haque Bhuiyan, convener of the newly formed MIB, in a press conference held at the National Press Club Monday.
He said MIB is the first government registered organisation having a licence of the commerce ministry. MIB would take necessary steps to make guidelines for conducting business by mobilizing everybody associated with music.
Kumar Biswajit, member secretary of MIB urged the government to support MIB's steps to export music CDs (compact disc) to control piracy.
Singer Asif Akbar, Shamsur Rahman chairman of Soundtack, Arifur Rahman chairman of Laser Vision were, among others, present at the conference.
