Microsoft Bangladesh announces grant for NGO

Microsoft Bangladesh announced an additional funding of US dollar 54,000 to create IT-enabled sustainable l of the country Monday in the city, says a press release.
They will also provide software and curriculum for enabling IT skills training to underserved people in rural areas under its flagship corporate social responsibility effort, the Unlimited Potential-Community Technology Skills Programme(UP-CTSP)
The grant beneficiary is Bangladesh Friendship Education Society (BFES), an NGO with a mission to promote education for all.
The aim of the project is to empower youth and women of rural communities by imparting basic computer literacy to them.
The knowledge will help them to get job in different sectors like, telecenters, various government and private organisations in the country and abroad as well.
Country manager of Microsoft Bangladesh Ltd Feroz Mahmud emphasised on the need for taking IT to marginalised class of society and said that every person of every level should have the opportunity to enjoy advantage of the benefits of technology.
