MIDLAND BANK DISBURSES LOANS TO FARMERS

Midland Bank Limited (MDB), under an intermediary agreement with Society for Family Happiness and Prosperity (FHP), an NGO, disbursed loans directly to farmers at 4 per cent interest rate under Bangladesh Bank Refinancing Scheme for the agricultural sector to ensure food safety. The Midland Bank disbursed Tk 2.7 million among 27 male and female farmers at an open loan disbursement ceremony held at the conference hall of FHP at Bajitpur in Kishoreganj recently. Md Ahsan-uz Zaman, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Midland Bank, handed over the cheques to the farmers as the chief guest. Krishno Chandra Das, Executive Director of FHP, and Dev Dulal Das, General Secretary of Bajitpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, were present as special guests.
