Milk price soaring

Another message adds: Milk price has soared in Rangpur a due to its short supply in the local markets, causing acute sufferings to the common people.
One kg of milk was being sold at Tk 40 in the district town only a few days ago. But now the price ranges of it has been raised to Tk 48 to 50, the locals said.
Milkmen, however attributed the high milk price to fodder crisis.
The people of the low-income group are the worst sufferers, as they depend on cow milk to feed their babies.
Rashed, a resident of Rangpur district town said he used to buy a kg of milk everyday. But he cut it by a half because of its price.
Sweets shop owners have also raised prices of their products.
