Minor boy drowns in pond in Sherpur

A minor boy drowned in a pond at Nayapara in Sribordi upazila of Sherpur district on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Siam, 6, son of Chingu Miah of the village. Locals said Siam slipped into the pond near his house at about 11:00am when he was playing on its bank. Later, local people recovered the body from the water body and took him to Sribordi upazila health complex where attending doctors declared him dead, according to a news agency.
