Minor electrocuted in a Dhaka children park

A minor girl has been electrocuted in a children’s park in Dhaka. Sources at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) said a five-year-old girl, named Anika Akhter, 5, died on Saturday afternoon after coming in contact with a live electric wire at a children’s park in the city. Police and locals said the girl came in contact with the live electric wire after falling from the electric toy train in Wonderland Park adjacent to Sayebad Bus Terminal around five in the afternoon. She was rushed to the DMCH where the attending doctors declared her dead. Anika, the youngest daughter of rickshaw-puller Azhar Ali, went to the park along with her elder sister Urmi. She hailed from Gaghra under Jhenaigati upazila in Sherpur district and a resident of Manda in Mugda area in Dhaka, according to a news agency.
