Minor girl drowns

A minor schoolgirl drowned in river Madhumati in Mohammadpur Upazila headquarters of Magura Saturday noon. The deceased was identified as Mim (9), daughter of Jahidul Islam of the area. Family sources said Mim along with her playmates went to take bath in the river near her house and at one stage slipped deep into it and drowned. Later, her family rushed her to the upazila health complex where the attending doctor declared her dead. -UNB
