Minor girl drowns in Moulvibazar

A minor girl drowned in a pond at Kulaura upazila in Moulvibazar district on Monday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Taslima Akter Shima, 3, daughter of Asraf Hossian, a resident of Jagannathpur village. Locals said Shima suddenly slipped into a pond and drowned while she was playing on its bank with other children. Locals came to her rescue and pulled her out of the water. Later she died while being rushed to a hospital. Sub-inspector Abdul Ahad of Kulaura police station confirmed the incident, according to UNB.
