Minor, kidnapped in Dhaka, rescued in Cox\\\'s Bazar

A boy was rescued from a residential hotel in Cox’s Bazar town on Monday night, three days after he was kidnapped in Dhaka. The victim was identified as Adnan Khan Minar, 2, son of Amir Hossain, a resident of Mohammadpur of Dhaka. The law enforcers rescued him, arresting three alleged kidnappers – Kutub Uddin, 38, Yeasmin, 30, and Nila, 25. The arrestees hail from different upazilas of Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar districts. Quoting family members, Mirza Moktar Hasan, camp in-charge of RAB-7, said kidnappers picked up Minar in Tejgaon area in Dhaka on Friday. They then took the boy to a residential hotel at Holiday intersection in Cox’s Bazar town and demanded Tk 0.5 million from the victim’s family as ransom. The victim’s father lodged a general diary in this regard. The law enforcers arrested the three kidnappers by taking strategy of giving the money demanded as ransom through bKash (mobile money transfer service) and rescued the monor, according to private TV channels.
