Minu, Bulbul sent to jail

A Rajshashi court has ordered 36 BNP activists to prison -- among them the city's mayor Mosaddeque Hossain Bulbul and the party’s Joint Secretary General Mizanur Rahman Minu.
They were charged in two cases over the killing of a policeman last year. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Marina Khanam scrapped the bail petition of the defendants on Monday. The accused appeared in court when the one-month interim bail granted to them by the High Court came to an end. Rajshashi Metropolitan Police (RMP) Constable Siddhartha Sarker was wounded in a bomb attack in the city on December 26 last year. He later succumbed to his injuries on the same day, according to bdnews24.com.
