Mir Quasem trial verdict any day
Monday, 5 May 2014
The hearing in the trial of Jamaat leader Mir Quasem Ali ended Sunday and the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 said it would pronounce the verdict any day, reports BSS.
Justice Obaidul Hassan, chairman of the three-member panel of ICT-2, put the date of the verdict on CAV (curia advisory vault, a Latin legal term meaning court awaits verdict), as the prosecution concluded placing their arguments on the day.
"We heard arguments from both the sides. Verdict cannot be passed right away. It has to be written, many things have to be reviewed. So we are keeping the case on CAV," said Justice Hassan.
Earlier in the morning, Barrister Tanvir Ahmed Al-Amin argued for the incumbent central executive committee member of Jamaat on law points.
