Mirpur CRP fire doused

The fire that broke out at the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralyzed (CRP) in the city’s Mirpur area on Friday evening was extinguished after an hour. Assistant Director of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (Dhaka) Rafiqul Islam told UNB from the spot that the fire originated at the office room on the 9th floor of the 13-storey building of the centre, well known as Mirpur CRP, in Mirpur-14 at about 6:20 pm. On information, seven firefighting units rushed in and brought the fire under control at about 7pm. The flame was completely doused around 7:30pm. No one was injured in the fire incident as the office was closed on the weekly holiday of Friday, Rafiqul said, adding that all the patients were also evacuated safely. The Fire Service AD also said the fire might be erupted from an electrical short circuit, according to a news agency.
