BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas has been acquitted in a case of violence. Dhaka's Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court on Sunday indicted 19 other accused in the case filed with Motijheel police for obstructing police duty, sabotage and exploding crude bombs. Abbas, convener of BNP's Dhaka metropolitan committee, had sought acquittal in the case before. The court granted his plea as there was no specific allegation against him, said defence counsel Mohsin Mia, according to a news agency.
