BNP acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has received bail from the High Court in three cases filed over violence. A HC bench of Justice Mohammad Rezaul Haque and Justice Khasruzzaman on Sunday granted bail to the BNP leader in the afternoon in the three cases filed with Paltan Police Station. Court sources said this removes all obstacles for the release of the BNP leader from jail. Advocate Joynul Abdin, who stood for the defence, hoped that the latest bail for Mirza Alamgir in the three violence cases would allow him to get release. Earlier on Thursday, Mirza Alamgir was granted bail from the HC in three other cases filed against him for vandalism, according to a news agency.
