Miscreants chop to death Noakhali CPB leader

Unidentified assailants chopped a local CPB leader to death and dumped the body in a field at Pashchim Charjabbar at Subarnachar upazila in Noakhali district at sometime between Saturday night and Sunday. The dead is Mofiz Ullah, 55, Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB)’s Noakhali Sadar upazila unit president and a resident of Afazia Bazar at Hatiya upazila. Abdul Baten, sub-inspector of Char Jabbar Police Station, said local people found the slaughtered body of a man in a field at Pashchim Charjabbar village and informed police who rushed in and recovered the body. Later, police sent the body to Noakhali Medical College Hospital where Habibur Rasul Mamun, president of the district unit of CPB, identified the deceased. Police, locals and party sources said miscreants might have killed him over establishing dominance in the area, according to a news agency.
