Miscreants kill auto-rickshaw driver

Unidentified miscreants killed an auto-rickshaw driver and dumped his body on the bank of Basia River at Tukerkandi village under Biswanath upazila in Sylhet on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Swapan Jahangir, 27, son of Imanul Haque of Alunia village in Faridganj upazila of Chandpur district. Informed by local people, police recovered Swapan Jahangir’s bruised body from the bank of the river and sent it to Osmani Medical College Hospital in Sylhet city for autopsy. Family members of the deceased said Jahangir went to Biswanath with passengers on Wednesday night and since then he had remained missing. The body bore marks of torture and stab injuries, police and hospital sources said, according to UNB.
