Miscreants kill BCL leader

COX'S BAZAR, Nov 20 (bdnews24.com): Miscreants shot dead a local leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) in the district.
The deceased was identified as Anwarul Islam Sifat (23), son of Fazal Karim of Shamlapur Natunpara area in Baharchhara Union Parishad (UP) of Teknaf Upazila.
Mr Sifat was the legal affairs secretary of BCL Baharchhara UP unit.
The police said that the murder took place in Chapatkhali Dhalar Mukh area on the Cox's Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive Road under Ukhia Upazila Friday night.
The law enforcers, however, couldn't identify the reasons behind the murder immediately.
Ukhia police station Sub-inspector Gobinda Das told journalists that Sifat, along with his two friends, was going to Baharchhara from Ukhia's Koat Bazar on a motorbike.
While they reached Dhalar Mukh area, criminals shot them from behind injuring Sifat critically.
His friends rushed Sifat into Teknaf Hospital where the duty doctors declared him dead.
Sifat's Uncle Miznur Rahman said that Sifat might have been killed over previous dispute.
