Miscreants kill woman

Miscreants tortured to death a woman and dumped her body on the bank of a river in Sunamganj Sadar upazila some time between Wednesday night and Thursday morning. Informed by local people, police recovered the body, bearing injury marks, from Mohanpur village on the bank of Surma River in Sadar upazila on Thursday evening. Identity of the deceased, aged around 30, could not be ascertained immediately. Jan-e-Alam, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said locals found the body of the young woman on the bank of the Surma River and informed police. Later, the law enforcers recovered it at about 6:00 pm and sent it to Sadar Hospital for autopsy. Police suspected that miscreants might have killed the woman and dumped the body there some time between Wednesday night and early in the morning on Thursday. A case was filed, according to UNB.
