Miscreants sever tendons of female UP member

Miscreants severed tendons of both the legs and hands of a local female Awami League (AL) activist at Kolabari area of Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj on Wednesday evening. The injured AL activist is Nurjahan Begum, also a woman member of Mobarakpur union parishad (UP) in the upazila. Police arrested two people suspecting their involvement in the incident. Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Shibganj Police Station, said a gang of miscreants intercepted Nurjahan while returning home in the evening. They stabbed the woman indiscriminately and cut off her tendons, leaving her injured. Rescued by locals, she was rushed to Shibganj Upazila Health Complex where doctors stated her condition to be critical, according to a news agency.
