Miscreants shoot BNP leader in Khulna

A local BNP leader has been shot and injured by unidentified miscreants in Rupsha upazila of Khulna district, report agencies.
The injured, Sainur Sheikh (45), son of late Atiar Sheikh of Taltala village under TSB union.
The BNP vice-president of Ward No. 2 of TSB Bahirdia union is undergoing treatment at Khulna Medical College Hospital.
District Jubo Dal Convener Ataur Rahman Ranu confirmed the incident.
According to police and local sources, Sainur was sitting at a tea stall in Taltala village at around 10.30 pm on Tuesday when a group of miscreants arrived on several motorcycles and opened fire targeting him.
He sustained bullet injuries to his head and left leg and collapsed on the spot.
