Miscreants slaughter minor boy, chops his mother

A minor boy was slaughtered and his mother injured by unidentified miscreants in Bhurungamari upazila in Kurigram district on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Rounak, 5, son of Roknuzzaman, a resident of at Saddam More in the upazila. Locals said a gang of miscreants stormed the house of Rokonuzzaman at night and slaughtered Rounak with sharp weapons when he along with his mother Parvin Akter and his brother Fuad was watching television, leaving him dead on the spot. The miscreants also chopped Parvin Akter with sharp weapons when she tried to resist them, leaving her critically injured. The injured was admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. On information, police recovered the body and sent it to the hospital for autopsy. A case was filed, according to UNB.
