Missing aircraft and baffled world
Friday, 21 March 2014
It is indeed baffling that even after 12 days, the missing aircraft of Malaysia has not been rescued. It disappeared on March 8, 2014, en route to Beijing International Airport from Kuala Lumpur. The aircraft was carrying 12 crew members and 227 passengers from 15 nations and most of the passengers were Chinese nationals. The near and dear ones of the missing passengers are surely in anguish.
More than 17 countries, including Bangladesh, are participating in one way or another to locate the aircraft. There was no Bangladeshi passenger in this flight. Five Indian citizens boarded the aeroplane. Every day we are getting new theories about the missing airplane and gradually the hope of rescue is fading away. I hope to hear the miraculous news of locating the missing flight and finding its passengers alive. Now, the aviation sector will be more alert so that such incidents do not repeat.
I believe the mystery will be unearthed soon and the world will use all available technologies for this purpose. The family members of the missing passengers are not happy with the way the authority has been handling the issue. They demand more transparency and accuracy of information. Meanwhile, we can pray for the missing passengers to return safe and sound.
