Missing armyman found dead in Pabna

PABNA, Oct 16: A missing armyman was found dead in Pabna. The decomposed body of the victim was recovered from a waterbody of village Mazidpur in Pabna Wednesday evening.
The victim Md. Obaidul Haque, 40, of Moheshpur Upazila in Jhenidah district was a soldier of Bangladesh Army, police said according to the identity card found with him. The victim was working in Bogra cantonment, police said.
Officer-in-charge of Pabna Sadar police station Kazi Haniful Islam said locals found a body floating in a waterbody of Mazidpur village beside Pabna-Rajshahi highway Wednesday afternoon and informed the police.
Police rushed to the spot and recovered the body of the victim Wednesday evening.
The victim was found tied with rope and dumped into the pond, said Sub inspector Arbindo of Pabna Sadar police station.
"The victim might be murdered 10/12 days ago and later the body was dumped here in the pond." Arbindo said adding that the body of the victim was decomposed totally. The reason behind the murder is not clear.
