Missing girl found dead in Shariatpur

Shariatpur, Aug 22 (UNB): Police recovered the body of a college girl from a beel (water body) in Shariatpur Municipal area on Friday, five days after she went missing.
The victim was identified as Samsunnahar, 22, an honours student of Government Golam Hader Khan Women's College and daughter of Hafiz Uddin Patwari of Charsundipur village in Sadar upazila.
Locals said Samsunnahar was married off to Ishaque Mollah of Shariatpur municipal area in 2011. Few days into the marriage, Ishaque went to the United Arab Emirates for work. Samsunnahar allegedly developed an extramarital relation with Rezaul Karim, son of Quader Talukder of Charsundipur village.
The girl went missing on Sunday on her way to her father's house from the father-in-law's.
Following the incident, her brother-in-law lodged a general diary with Sadar thana.
Tracking the call lists of the missing girl's cell phone, police detained Rezaul Karim on Thursday.
On the basis of information gleaned from Rezaul, police arrested two other youths-Saiful Peda and Dulal Miah, both students of Shariatpur Government College.
The trio confessed to superintendent of police (SP) Saifullah Al Mamun late on Thursday night that they had killed Samsunnahar.
Following the confession, police recovered the body tied with bricks from Dhanuker beel on Friday morning.
