Missing opportunities

Coronavirus reached Bangladesh three months after its outbreak in China. Reportedly, the some expatriates from Europe who ignored the government advice for quarantining were found to have been infected and carriers. Warnings from experts are sometimes ignored and sometimes followed and thankfully nations around the around are taking measures to address the health crisis created by the coronavirus.
CNN ran an interesting story headlined 'Coronavirus is bringing a plague of dangerous doomsday predictions', based on a book titled "End of Days: Predictions and Prophecies About the End of the World." by Sylvia Browne who died in 2013. It said, "In around 2020, a severe pneumonia-like illness will spread throughout the globe, attacking the lungs and the bronchial tubes and resisting all known treatments." The book added, "Almost more baffling than the illness itself will be the fact that it will suddenly vanish as quickly as it arrived, attack again ten years later, and then disappear completely."
However, we need to at least relay on scientific findings and take necessary preparations when there is a scope. We can admit our mistakes if there is any and change lifestyle whenever required. We need to stop thoughtless intervention into wildlife, forest and marine resources. Coronavirus outbreak calls for some changes that policymakers and researchers did not think about only a few months ago.
