Missing timber trader found dead

The body of a timber trader was recovered in Daulatpur in Khulna city on Friday, 22 days after he had gone missing. The dead is Nikhil Debnath, a resident of Gonon Babu Road in the city. Nikhil’s wife Kanon Debnath said he went to Dhaka for business purpose on February 10. He started for Chuadanga around 11am on April 17 from Dhaka. Kanon found his mobile phone switched off when she called him at 3pm on April 17. She lodged a general diary (GD) with Khulna Kotwali Police Station in this regard. Khulna railway police said some shopkeepers found Nikhil’s beside railway tracks adjacent to Bebi (Human hauler) stand in Daulatpur around 2pm on Friday and informed them. The body was sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital for autopsy, according to UNB.
