Mobil factory gutted in Savar

A Mobil processing factory was gutted in a fire in the Leather Industrial Area of Habindhara in Savar on Friday. Station officer of Savar Fire Service Anwar Hossain said the fire originated at ‘Asia Oil Ltd’ around 12 noon. On information, five firefighting units rushed in and doused the flame after frantic efforts of two and a half hours. However, the factory was reduced to cinders before the fire was extinguished. Factory manager Reaz Uddin claimed that the extent of loss caused by the fire would exceed Tk 5 million. The reason behind the fire could not be known yet, according to UNB.
