Mobile Court fines 15 restaurants, hotels Tk 0.134m

BRAHMANBARIA, Nov 14: In on anti-adulteration drive, a mobile court fined 15 restaurants and sweetmeat shops TK 1,34,000 in the town Monday for producing adulterated food items and serving unhygienic foods to customers.
The mobile court drive was conducted in co-operation with the joint forces.
During the mobile court drives a huge quantity of adulterated and sub-standard food items and commodities were seized, and all those were later destroyed.
The restourants and sweetmeat shops that were fined included Hotel Al-Arafat, Hotel Nowmi at Kawtali, Café Sujon, Paragon Hotel, Masud Confectionery at Station Road, The Jhumur, Laki Hotel, Jhumur Hotel, Kari Hotel, Al-Mizan Hotel at Masjid Road, Nimai Mistanna Bhander, Amrit Mistanna Bhander, Bholanath Mistanna Bhander at Mahadeb Patti, and Adarsha Matri Bhander and Matri Mistanna Bhander at New Cinema Road.
As a result of such a campaign, dishonest business syndicates have become frightened. On the other hand, the people of the town are very happy for this action.
