A mobile court led by magistrate Mahabubur Rahman fined two hall canteens of Dhaka University with Tk 10,000 for the dirty and unhygienic environment in the kitchens Wednesday.
The court fined the canteens of Jasim Uddin hall and the Mujib hall with Tk 5,000 each.
"We have fined the two hall canteens as they kept all foods uncovered and the kitchens were replete with dirt and filth. Students for this reason often suffer from various diseases including dysentry and jaundice", magistrate Mahabubur Rahman told reporters.
