Mobile court fines sand lifter in Chuadanga

CHUADANGA, Sept 20 (BSS): A mobile court here today realised Tk 50,000 fine from a person on charge of lifting sands from government Khas land at Ibrahimpur village under Damurhuda Upazila of the district.
The fine was realised from sand lifter Abdur Razzak, son of Wahab Mondol of Khejurtola village under Chuadanga Sadar Upazila of the district.
Mobile court sources said Adur Razzak was lifting sands by his labourers from the government Khas land at Ibrahimpur village by a dredging machine.
Receiving information, the Acting Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Damurhuda Upazila Nurul Hafiz rushed to the spot and arrested four laborers from the spot while they were lifting sands.
Abdur Razzak was not present there. Later, a mobile court was set up at the office premises of Damurhuda Upazila Nirbahi Office.
The mobile court after taking evidence ordered Abdur Razzak to pay a fine of Tk 50,000, in default to suffer three months in jail.
The convicted person Abdur Razzak paid the fined money and arrested laborers were released.
The mobile court also seized the dredging machine and sands. Acting Upazila Nirbahi Officer Nurul Hafiz, Damurhuda conducted the mobile court.
