Mobile court jails drug peddler

A mobile court in Jessore has sentenced a man to one year imprisonment for selling contraband items in Sharsha upazila of the western district bordering India. The convict was identified as Shahidul Gazi, 35, son of late Rajob Gazi of Narayanpur village of the upazila. Sources said a mobile court led by Upazila Nirbahi Officer ATM Shariful Alam detained Shahidul along with one kg hemp and other drugs from the upazila headquarters on Thursday afternoon. Later, the court gave him one year imprisonment and handed over him to Benapole Port Police Station, according to UNB.
