Mobile court seals six soyabean factories

CHITTAGONG, June 22 (BSS): A mobile court on Monday sealed off six unauthorised soya-bean oil factories in different areas under city's Baizid thana.
Executive Magistrate of Chittagong District Administration Tamim Al Yeamin conducted the anti-adulteration drives and sealed off the factories for producing and marketing soyabean oil without approval from the concerned authorities, District Administration sources said.
The court also punished five factory owners with different terms in jail and fined the other one Tk 0.15 million (1.5 lakh) on the same ground.
"The factories used to produce and sell soyabean oil in small rented rooms without approval", the source said adding that the court also seized 25 tons of soyabean oil during the drive.
