Mobile transports to vote for Sundarbans

Department of Forests has deployed six mobile voting transports at divisional headquarters and districts from Tuesday to facilitate people to vote for the Sundarbans to elect the mangrove forests as one of the seven new wonders of the nature, reports BSS. The transports equipped with laptop, internet and mobile phone will move from district to district to help people to vote for the Sundarbans, which is now competing with 28 other natural beauties across the world to have its position among new list of seven. State Minister for Environment and Forests Dr Hasan Mahmud inaugurated the mobile voting system Tuesday at the National Press Club premises. Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF) Ishtiaq Ahmed also spoke on the occasion. Dr Hasan said the position of the Sundarbans was fourth last week in the vote and it might be the first with coordinated efforts of all Bangla speaking people across the world.
