Prime Minister's Adviser for Health and Family Welfare Dr Syed Modasser Ali Saturday stressed the need for united effort of all to improve the existing health facilities across the country, reports BSS.
He was addressing a day-long workshop on "Arsenicosis Diagnosis and its Management Training" organised by Health Directorate and Health Ministry in the conference room of the deputy commissioner (DC) of Faridpur as chief guest.
The minister said the present government led by Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina was committed to implementing the election manifesto of the Awami League (AL) to ensure 'health for all' within the stipulated time.
Dr Modasser said that the government has planned to reactivate 18,500 community clinics in the country to benefit the rural people.
He urged the officials to involve all sections of people in the government programmes for successful implementation.
Speaking at the workshop as special guest Prof Dr Iqbal Arsalan, chairman of Bio-chemistry faculty of BSMMU and secretary general of Swadhinata Chikitshak Parishad, underscored the need for activating the arsenic mitigation committee at all levels to save the people from the 'invisible poison' arsenic. He asked all to work collectively to avoid arsenic contamination.
Presiding over the workshop, president of district arsenic mitigation committee and deputy commissioner of Faridpur Helaluddin Ahmed suggested re-excavation of derelict ponds and water bodies to make those usable.
