The International School Dhaka (ISD) hosted its third Model United Nations Conference 'DHAMUN III' recently, said a press release.
Students from the ISD and six other English-medium schools, namely Aga Khan, Maple Leaf, Mastermind, Oxford, Sir John Wilson and Sunbeams, participated.
They assumed the roles of delegates and officers as representatives of almost forty countries in three main forums - the General Assembly, Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the Human Rights Commission.
Student delegates made speeches on ongoing issues including human rights in Tibet and the coordination of humanitarian assistance to the victims of natural disasters. They represented the views and positions of the countries they researched on.
