Modhumoti Bank holds Training and Capacity Building Program on IFRS-9

Modhumoti Bank PLC organized "Training & Capacity Building Program on ECL Based Loan Classification & Provisioning under IFRS-9" at the bank's head office on Wednesday. The event was attended by Md. Shafiul Azam, Managing Director & CEO of Modhumoti Bank PLC, as the chief guest. Shahnawaj Chowdhury, Additional Managing Director, and Arab Fazlur Rahman, Deputy Managing Director & Chief Business Officer, were present as the special guests. Binoy G. Roy, FCA, Consultant of Howladar Yunus & Co., Chartered Accountants, conducted the training program, where MANCOM members, divisional heads and related officials of the bank were also present. As per directives of Bangladesh Bank, steps towards implementing `IFRS 9 - Financial Instruments', more specifically the Expected Credit Loss (ECL) based loan classification and provisioning, were thoroughly discussed in the training program. Following the substantive discussions, the programme concluded with a constructive and interactive Q&A session.
