Modi bids \\\'salam\\\' to true Bharat Ratna Kalam

The government of India on Tuesday announced a 7-day state mourning in honour of former President APJ Abdul Kalam. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has paid rich tributes to the true Bharat Ratna APJ Abdul Kalam in New Delhi. Modi and the chiefs of the three services paid homage when the body of Kalam, known as India’s Missile Man, arrived at Palam Airport in Delhi on Tuesday. The body of Kalam, who died after suffering a cardiac arrest during a lecture at the IIM-Shillong on Monday evening, was flown to Delhi in the morning by a special aircraft. President Pranab Mukherjee received the body of Kalam. Delhi Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung was present at Airport. Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar too were present at the airport. The Army, Navy and Air Force paid their last respects to the mortal remains of the Bharat Ratna. Kalam's body will be kept at his residence in Rajaji Marg, New Delhi, for public to pay their last respects from 4pm (Indian Standard Time), according to NDTV.
